Help for Hoima
"We have so much and always want more; they have so little and are always happy"
About Us
Help for Hoima has been developed through a church link with Hoima, Uganda which has been going strong since the 1980s. We work on the ground with the Ugandan people to help give them a better present and future, irrespective of religion or race, by providing clean water, food, healthcare, education and buildings. We have strong relationships with people in Hoima who direct us to different projects. We always try to assist them in ways relevant to their way of life and culture and we try not to enforce our western ideas on them where possible.
We have been involved in various different projects including:
- Rebuilding Schools
- Building a Maternity Ward
- Sponsorship Programme for an Orphanage
- Maternity Packs for new mothers and babies
- Give Your Presence Catalogue
Projects for the future:
- Healthcare Partnership with NHS and local Hospital
- Mobile Ante Natal clinic
- Further School building work
- Extending the Orphanage
- Give Your Presence Catalogue
We are a local charity who want to try and make a difference. We have a local family going out to spend a year in Hoima. The differences achieved have come about through the commitment of many, both here and in Hoima, to make them happen. Projects are clearly defined at the outset and our friends in Hoima pride themselves in fulfilling their commitments both to budgets and timescales.
With generous support we are working with the people of Hoima to provide for a better, brighter and more secure future.
